A Community Host introduces a customer or a tasker to Dockhand. The booking, the money, and the work all happen through Dockhand — you're never in the middle of a payment, a lease, or a service contract. You are not brokering real estate, managing a property, or acting as an employee of Dockhand. This matters if you're already a rental host or property manager: your Community Host income is separate from any property-management work you do, and Dockhand does not represent you as either.
Ontario's Consumer Protection Act requires disclosure of paid referrals. Dockhand handles it for you: whenever a job comes through your link, the confirmation screen shows the customer that the referral originated from you and that you receive a small fee from Dockhand's share.
