How and when do I get paid?+

Connect your bank to Stripe during onboarding (about 5 minutes). Once a job is marked complete and the cottager confirms, your share is paid out by Stripe and lands in your bank on Stripe's standard schedule — typically 2–7 business days for new accounts, faster once you're established.

What's the fee?+

Dockhand takes a flat 20% of each task — and that's it. No subscription, no lead fees, no per-message charges. For the first 25 taskers in each region, it's 0% for your first 30 days, so you keep everything you earn while you get going.

Do I have to take every job?+

Never. You see local tasks in the categories you offer and choose what to take. Block out dates you're unavailable, skip anything that doesn't fit, and there are no quotas or penalties for passing.

What do I need to start?+

A phone, a bank account, and the ability to confirm your identity through a quick Stripe Identity check (government ID + selfie). For Pro categories you'll also complete a one-time Certn background check.

Is this year-round or just summer?+

Year-round. Winter brings snow shovelling, plowing, cottage security checks, and ski-chalet turnover. Cottage country needs help in every season — so there's work on the board all year.
